There’s one word that comes to mind when I consider how this all came to be – Family.
Firstly, my curiosity in the kitchen began as I observed my grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles as they consistently delivered their specialty dishes. Everyone seemed to have a handful of recipes that they excelled at and there were those culinary superstars who amazed with every dish they delivered.
The joy on the faces of all who enjoyed these delicious creations and the special moments we created as a family nurtured a deep desire to follow in the footsteps of my elders. My experimentation phase started as a teenager with special guidance from my mother as we made cookies and other desserts. As my skills developed and as her confidence grew in my abilities, she got me involved in preparing festive treats, and that’s where my Ponche de Crème journey began.
